The motivation behind this picture was literally the weather. We were racing to leave Death Valley, a fast storm was rolling in, we were on the pass and needed to get to the flat road fast. After we did, I looked in the rear view, and saw this lonely Joshua Tree framed by the storm rolling in. Fast escapes!
